Power System Controller (3)

Uganda Electricity Transmission Company Limited (UETCL) is hiring a Power System Controller (3) for real-time Supervision of Power System operations with a focus on generation resources optimization, grid reliability, outage management, quality of supply and safety.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

• Supervision of real time demand and supply balance (system frequency kept within +/-1% of nominal).
• System voltages maintained within +/-10% of nominal.
• Implementing planned outages and management of forced outages, including operational safety.
• Compilation of outages statistics.
• Optimal dispatch of available generation from cascaded hydropower plants.

Qualifications, Skills and Experience:

• Must have a Higher Diploma in Electrical engineering
• 2 Years of experience
• Experience in use of SCADA systems for power system operations would be an added advantage
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills
• Team player
• Customer relations skills
• Computer skills
