Ecobank Uganda is hiring a Head Marketing – Brand and Communications with the following key duties and responsibilities;

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

CUSTOMER CENTRICITY

  • Develop and execute customer-driven marketing strategies.
  • Ensure a consistent and compelling brand experience across all customer touchpoints.
  • Leverage customer insights and feedback to improve products and services.
  • Strengthen customer relationships and stakeholder engagement.

BUSINESS AND FINANCIAL PERFORMANCE

  • Develop and implement integrated marketing strategies aligned to revenue growth and profitability objectives.
  • Translate business goals into actionable marketing and product plans.
  • Drive product profitability, new product development, and market penetration.
  • Manage and optimize marketing budgets to maximize return on investment (ROI).
  • Monitor campaign effectiveness and report on performance and revenue contribution.
  • Drive digital adoption, product uptake, and cross-selling initiatives.

CONTROLS AND PROCESSES

  • Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and internal policies.
  • Maintain strong brand governance and quality standards.
  • Manage third-party vendors and agencies through effective SLAs and contracts.
  • Track and report on marketing effectiveness and risks.
  • Identify and mitigate reputational and operational risks.

  • Drive digital marketing transformation and innovation.
  • Strengthen brand positioning and visibility in the market.
  • Improve marketing ROI through data-driven insights.
  • Enhance customer acquisition and retention.
  • Support product growth and cross-selling initiatives.

PEOPLE MANAGEMENT

  • Lead, coach, and develop a high-performing marketing team.
  • Set clear performance objectives and conduct regular appraisals.
  • Identify and address training and development needs.
  • Promote a culture of collaboration, innovation, and accountability.

 

Qualifications, Skills and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in marketing, Business Administration or related field.
  • Postgraduate qualification/CIM is an added advantage

EXPERIENCE

  • 8–10 years’ experience in marketing, preferably in banking or FMCG.
  • Strategic thinking and business acumen
  • Leadership and people management
  • Strong communication and stakeholder engagement
  • Analytical and data-driven decision-making skills
