Job Summary:
CFID Uganda is seeking experienced Truck Mechanics to join our maintenance team. The ideal candidates will have a solid background in automobile maintenance with a specific focus on truck repair. You will be responsible for diagnosing issues, performing repairs, and ensuring the trucks are operating efficiently and safely. This is a hands-on role for individuals who are passionate about vehicle maintenance and enjoy troubleshooting mechanical issues.
Qualifications, Skills, and Experience:
- Educational Qualifications:
- A Diploma/Degree in Auto Mechanics or any related field.
- Experience Requirements:
- More than 5 years of experience in automobile maintenance, particularly with trucks or large vehicles.
- Proficiency in using a wide range of maintenance and repair tools.
- Key Skills and Attributes:
- Proven ability to diagnose and repair vehicles, including electrical, mechanical, and engine systems.
- Strong understanding of safety procedures and the ability to adhere to safety instructions during all maintenance activities.
- Ability to work independently or as part of a team to complete maintenance tasks efficiently.
- Attention to detail and a methodical approach to troubleshooting.
- Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to think critically in high-pressure situations.
Job Responsibilities:
- Perform regular maintenance on trucks, including oil changes, brake checks, tire rotations, and other routine inspections.
- Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, and engine issues with trucks and other vehicles in the fleet.
- Use diagnostic tools and manual techniques to identify issues and determine appropriate solutions.
- Maintain an accurate record of repairs and maintenance schedules for all vehicles.
- Ensure that all repairs are conducted in compliance with industry standards and safety regulations.
- Conduct tests on repaired vehicles to ensure all systems are functioning optimally.
- Collaborate with the fleet management team to ensure that vehicles are kept in good working condition and ready for use.
- Provide guidance and mentoring to junior mechanics or apprentices, as required.
