Technician
ECO GROUP (U) LIMITED is hiring a Technician, who will play a crucial role in installing and maintaining solar energy systems that collect, store, and circulate solar-heated water. You will work closely with a small, dedicated team, reporting directly to the Director. We seek individuals who are communicative, customer-focused, and possess a strong sense of integrity. The work environment is dynamic and supportive, emphasizing teamwork and personal accountability.

Key Responsibilities
1. Test operation or functionality of mechanical, electrical, and control systems.
2. Install solar systems using appropriate materials.
3. Demonstrate start-up, shut-down, maintenance, diagnostic, and safety procedures to system owners.
4. Install flat-plate, evacuated glass, or concentrating solar collectors on mounting devices.
5. Install solar system controllers and sensors.
6. Determine locations for installing solar subsystem components.
Requirements
Essential Qualifications
– Education Requirements: Post-secondary Diploma in Electrical Engineering or related fields.
– Required Experience: Minimum 3 years of relevant work experience.
– Mandatory Skills: Installation, Critical Thinking, Troubleshooting, Time Management, Equipment Maintenance.
– Required Technical Knowledge: Proficient in Computer Aided Manufacturing (CAM) software, electronic mail software, and word processing software.
– Required Certifications/Licenses: Certificate in Electrical Installation Systems and Maintenance.
– Language Requirements: Proficiency in English, Luganda, and Swahili. Knowledge of Runyankole, or Lusoga is preferred.
Preferred Qualifications
– Desired Additional Skills: Monitoring, Judgment and Decision Making.
– Beneficial Experience: Experience in identifying electrical, environmental, or safety hazards associated with solar system installations.
– Additional Technical Knowledge: Knowledge of Building and Construction.
