Description

   The TB/HIV Services Officer is responsible for overall planning, managing and coordinating TB diagnosis, prevention, treatment and Infection Control (IC) activities implemented in the region. Implement TB/HIV care & treatment in alignment with up to date MoH guidelines.

Reports to: Program Management Specialist

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate and assist with supportive supervision and mentoring of community-based and facility-based Health Care Workers in the day-to-day implementation of TB/HIV collaborative activities.
  • Coordinate and assist with supportive supervision and mentoring of community-based and facility-based Health Care Workers in the day-to-day implementation of TB/HIV collaborative activities.
  • Provide support to the effective referral system of tuberculosis and HIV patients to ensure integration of TB and HIV services within the district
  • Document gather, and analyse records of TB/HIV collaborative activities at supported facilities, as well as case-based information in electronic format
  • Work closely with the National TB Control Program (NTP), WHO, NGO partners and other Stakeholders in identifying program priorities, developing strategies and coordinating Implementation of TB activities;
  • Support districts to embrace the electronic TB case-based surveillance system and use it to guide to customise TB program activities in their locality.
  • Work with the district TB focal persons, HIV focal persons and Facility in charges to support them to provide regular updates to stakeholders regarding implementation of the TB/HIV collaborative activities.
  • Provide technical support to sub-grantees in developing work plan in accordance with project Objectives and scope of work; Technical support supervision for CBO’s and sub grantees with indicators related to TB.
  • Support districts to plan and implement TB case finding, treatment and support activities in line with the MOH guidelines.
  • Monitor implementation of planned activities through periodic consultations, monthly progress review meetings, reports review, and field trips. Provide written feedback for improving performance.
  • Review weekly, monthly and quarterly progress on TB indicators at district and facility level.

ualifications, Skills and Experience:

  • A Bachelor’s degree in Public Health or a degree in a related field from a recognized institution. A Diploma in Clinical Medicine qualification is an added advantage.
  • 2 Years Relevant Experience
