Purpose of the Job:
Senior Quality Assurance Officer will oversee and enhance the quality assurance management processes at the University, ensuring adherence to nationally and internationally accepted standards.

Key Functions:

  1. Quality Management Systems: Plan, implement, and continually improve the University’s quality management systems in line with accepted standards.
  2. Quality Assurance Framework: Support the design, development, and review of quality assurance frameworks, policies, guidelines, strategies, tools, and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) in compliance with regulatory requirements and industry standards.
  3. Regulatory Links: Develop and maintain links with regulatory bodies, external agencies, and other higher education institutions on quality assurance matters.
  4. Support and Training: Provide technical support to academic and administrative units, and organize training programs on quality management systems.
  5. Reporting and Audits: Prepare periodic reports, conduct audits, surveys, and assessments to evaluate compliance with quality standards and regulatory requirements, and recommend corrective actions.
  6. Quality Issues and Complaints: Investigate quality issues, non-conformances, and client complaints, and implement corrective actions.
  7. Communication and Monitoring: Communicate quality management targets, shortfalls, and improvements, and monitor quality assurance requirements for teaching, learning, research, and community outreach.
  8. Program Updates: Ensure that the University’s academic programs are regularly updated and validated.

Key Outputs:

  1. Effective implementation and continuous improvement of quality management systems.
  2. Development and maintenance of quality assurance frameworks, policies, and SOPs.
  3. Strong networks with regulatory bodies and external agencies.
  4. Technical support and training for staff on quality management.
  5. Regular audits, assessments, and reports on quality compliance.
  6. Resolution of quality issues and implementation of corrective actions.
  7. Effective communication of quality management targets and improvements.
  8. Up-to-date and validated academic programs.

Person Specifications:

  1. Master’s Degree in Education, Management, Social Sciences, Health Sciences, or a related field from a recognized institution.
  2. Bachelor’s Degree in Education, Management, Social Sciences, Health Sciences, or a related field.
  3. At least three (3) years of experience as a Quality Assurance Officer in a reputable institution.
  4. Knowledge of program development, accreditation, and approval processes.
  5. Familiarity with national, regional, and international quality assurance standards.
  6. Proficiency in information technology.
  7. High level of integrity.
  8. Applicant should be below 55 years of age at the time of application.
