Terms of Employment: Permanent, subject to a six (6) month probationary period
Purpose of the Job:
Senior Quality Assurance Officer will oversee and enhance the quality assurance management processes at the University, ensuring adherence to nationally and internationally accepted standards.
Key Functions:
- Quality Management Systems: Plan, implement, and continually improve the University’s quality management systems in line with accepted standards.
- Quality Assurance Framework: Support the design, development, and review of quality assurance frameworks, policies, guidelines, strategies, tools, and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) in compliance with regulatory requirements and industry standards.
- Regulatory Links: Develop and maintain links with regulatory bodies, external agencies, and other higher education institutions on quality assurance matters.
- Support and Training: Provide technical support to academic and administrative units, and organize training programs on quality management systems.
- Reporting and Audits: Prepare periodic reports, conduct audits, surveys, and assessments to evaluate compliance with quality standards and regulatory requirements, and recommend corrective actions.
- Quality Issues and Complaints: Investigate quality issues, non-conformances, and client complaints, and implement corrective actions.
- Communication and Monitoring: Communicate quality management targets, shortfalls, and improvements, and monitor quality assurance requirements for teaching, learning, research, and community outreach.
- Program Updates: Ensure that the University’s academic programs are regularly updated and validated.

- Up-to-date and validated academic programs.
Person Specifications:
- Master’s Degree in Education, Management, Social Sciences, Health Sciences, or a related field from a recognized institution.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Education, Management, Social Sciences, Health Sciences, or a related field.
- At least three (3) years of experience as a Quality Assurance Officer in a reputable institution.
- Knowledge of program development, accreditation, and approval processes.
- Familiarity with national, regional, and international quality assurance standards.
- Proficiency in information technology.
- High level of integrity.
- Applicant should be below 55 years of age at the time of application.
