Procurement Officer

Job Summary:
The Procurement Officer is responsible for acquiring goods and services necessary for business operations, ensuring that all purchases are cost-efficient, of high quality, and comply with company standards.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
- Develop and review company strategies for ordering supplies and equipment.
- Prepare organization-wide procurement plans for equipment, services, and supplies.
- Prepare budgets, cost analyses, and reports.
- Evaluate suppliers, products, and services, and negotiate contracts following the company’s procurement policies and procedures.
- Negotiate contracts with vendors for new purchases.
- Review, compare, analyze, and approve the timely purchase of products and services.
- Manage inventories to ensure adequate stock levels.
- Maintain accurate purchase and pricing records.
- Maintain and update supplier information, including qualifications, delivery times, and product ranges.
- Research and evaluate prospective suppliers.
- Supervise store management across all BFC stations.
- Communicate with suppliers to maintain positive relationships.
Qualifications, Skills, and Experience:
- Degree in Procurement and Supply Chain Management, BSc Accounting, BBA, or related field (CIPS is an added advantage).
- At least 3 years of experience as a Procurement Officer in the manufacturing industry.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and purchasing software (Sage X3).
- Strong networking and negotiation skills.
