Mechanic

Agilis Partners is hiring a skilled Mechanic to join our team, focusing on the maintenance and repair of agricultural machinery to ensure operational efficiency.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct routine inspections and perform scheduled services (e.g., 50 & 250-hour servicing) on tractors, sprayers, and combines.
• Diagnose and repair machine breakdowns; source parts or fabricate locally as needed.
• Repair small engines (compressors, water pumps) and resolve hydraulic system issues.
• Perform basic wiring (e.g., lights, battery insulation) and welding tasks.
• Train and mentor junior mechanics.
• Carry out any additional tasks assigned.

Requirements

• Certificate in Mechanical Engineering or a related technical field, OR 2 years’ hands-on experience with similar machinery.
• Minimum 1-year proven experience in a mechanical or similar role.
• Understanding of agricultural machinery is essential.
• Additional skills such as driving, welding, and basic wiring are desirable.
• Strong mechanical, diagnostic, and problem-solving skills.
• Proficiency in using hand tools, power tools, diagnostic equipment, and workshop machinery.
• Effective communication skills in English and Kiswahili.
