Human Resource Coordinator

Job Summary:
The Human Resource Coordinator (Maternity Cover) will manage various HR functions for a 4-month period. This role requires expertise in multiple HR areas and the ability to adapt to a dynamic non-profit environment. The Coordinator will oversee recruitment efforts, employee relations, benefits administration, performance evaluations, HR processes, and compliance with HR policies and regulations. The position will also support the emergency team as needed during humanitarian crises.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
- Employee Relations and Engagement:
- Advise managers and staff on resolving workplace conflicts.
- Implement initiatives to enhance employee engagement, satisfaction, and retention.
- Promote a positive work environment and support employee well-being.
- Manage staff forums and employee engagement platforms.
- Oversee employee relations, grievance management, counseling, and disciplinary processes.
- Conduct satisfaction surveys and other engagement activities.
- Employee Benefits and Entitlement Management:
- Manage payroll, ensuring accurate delivery of salaries, deductions, and pay slips.
- Support benefits and salary reviews.
- Coordinate employee medical, GPA, and group life activities.
- Oversee the exit process and follow up on staff separation documentation.
- Talent Acquisition and Management:
- Manage recruitment processes, including sourcing, screening, interviewing, and onboarding.
- Collaborate with hiring managers to understand staffing needs and develop recruitment strategies.
- Coordinate new employee orientations and onboarding processes.
- Human Resource Documentation, Reporting, and Analytics:
- Collect and analyze HR data for decision-making and reporting.
- Maintain HRMIS and employee records to ensure data accuracy and integrity.
- Support HR initiatives and provide timely reports to aid strategic planning.
- Collaborate with Finance on audit activities.
Qualifications, Skills, and Experience:
- Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resource Management, Social Work, Industrial Psychology, or related fields.
- Post Graduate Diploma in Human Resource Management is a must.
- Knowledge and Experience:
- At least 5 years of experience, preferably with an international NGO.
- Understanding of national legal requirements related to HR, including labor and administrative laws.
- Strong knowledge of HR principles, policies, and practices.
- Experience in talent acquisition, HR planning, and managing sensitive information.
- Familiarity with donor-funded projects and providing HR services.
- Proficiency in HRIS systems, Microsoft Office Suite, and other HR-related software.
- Strong problem-solving, analytical, interpersonal, and communication skills.
