10,000 Probationer Police Constables

Uganda Police is hiring 10,000 Probationer Police Constables; Applications are invited from suitably qualified Ugandan citizens to join the Uganda Police Force.

POST: PROBATIONER POLICE CONSTABLE (PPC)
VACANCIES: 10,000
SALARY SCALE: UG SCALE-U7
AGE LIMIT: 18-25 YEARS
KEY OUTPUTS:
(a) To enforce law and order.
(b) To protect life and property.
(c) To preserve law and order.
(d) To prevent and detect crime.
(e) Any other duties as assigned by the Inspector General of Police.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
- Must be a Ugandan citizen with a valid National ID/Confirmation of Information on the Register letter from NIRA.
- Must have no criminal record.
- Should be ready to undertake the requisite Police Basic Training.
- Should be physically and medically fit.
- Should be ready to work for long hours and at times under difficult conditions.
- Should be ready to work in any part of the country.
- Should possess good communication skills.
- Must not be a serving or former officer in other Forces.
LEVEL OF EDUCATION REQUIRED:
Candidates must possess a UCE certificate or its equivalent obtained in a sitting not earlier than 2020, with:
- At least four (4) credits, including either English or Mathematics, and must have at least a “D” grade in the other subject (for those graded under the traditional grading system).
- At least four (4) “C” (for the Competency-Based System).
Note: Possession of additional academic, technical/vocational qualifications and a valid driving permit/license certificate will be an added advantage.
HOW TO APPLY:
Handwritten applications addressed to the Inspector General of Police, accompanied by:
- Photocopies of academic documents,
- Photocopy of the National Identity Card,
- Three (3) recent passport size photographs,
- Identity Card or Introductory letter from the previous school and recommendation letters from LCI, LCIII, and RDC (from the respective districts of recruitment),
should be delivered in a file folder to the Police District/Divisional Headquarters not later than 21st March 2025.
NOTE:
- Impersonation or presentation of forged documents shall lead to arrest and prosecution in Courts of law.
- Applicants who conceal or provide false information shall be disqualified.
- Appointment into the Uganda Police Force shall be after completion of the Police Basic Training.
- All stages of the recruitment process are free of charge. Applicants should refrain from paying any money to anyone to facilitate services during the recruitment process.
- Female candidates are encouraged to apply.
- Those who possess higher academic qualifications should not apply.
