Description

Mota-Engil is hiring a Quality Control Inspector responsible for inspecting and monitoring road construction activities to ensure that materials, workmanship, and completed works comply with approved drawings, specifications, ITPs, Method Statements, and project quality requirements.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Conduct daily inspections of road construction activities and ensure compliance with approved ITPs, QCPs, drawings, specifications, and Method Statements.
  • Inspect earthworks, excavation, embankment, subgrade, drainage, culverts, pavement layers, concrete, and asphalt works.
  • Prepare and coordinate Inspection Requests (IRs) with the relevant Site Engineers, Consultant, and Client representatives.
  • Monitor the quality of construction materials and workmanship and verify compliance with approved requirements.
  • Coordinate with the site laboratory to ensure required field and laboratory tests are conducted on time and review test results.
  • Verify levels, alignment, dimensions, layer thickness, compaction, and other specified quality requirements.
  • Identify and report non-conforming works and materials and support the preparation and closure of NCRs.
  • Ensure that only the latest approved drawings, specifications, ITPs, and Method Statements are being used on site.
  • Verify that inspection, measuring, and testing equipment is properly calibrated and valid.
  • Maintain accurate inspection reports, test results, checklists, NCRs, and other quality records.
  • Participate in joint inspections with the Consultant, Client, and subcontractors.
  • Monitor subcontractors’ works and ensure compliance with project quality requirements.
  • Report quality issues and inspection status to the QC Engineer/QA/QC Manager.
  • Perform any other quality control duties assigned by the supervisor.

Qualifications, Skills and Experience

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Engineering, or a related field.
  • Minimum 3 years’ experience in QC inspection, preferably on road/highway or infrastructure projects.
  • Practical knowledge of earthworks, drainage, pavement, concrete, and asphalt works.
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, specifications, ITPs, and Method Statements.
  • Knowledge of construction materials and field/laboratory testing procedures.
  • Good knowledge of quality documentation, NCRs, and inspection procedures.
  • Good communication, reporting, and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, particularly Word and Excel.
  • Quality/ISO 9001 certification or relevant QA/QC training is an added advantage.
  • Willingness to work on construction sites and flexible working hours.
