Description
We are looking for a passionate, creative and disciplined Chef to lead our kitchen and deliver outstanding Continental and Local cuisine.
Key responsibilities
- Prepare and present high-quality meals specializing in Continental and Local dishes for breakfast, lunch and dinner.
- Plan menus and create new dishes using seasonal and local ingredients.
- Ensure food quality, taste, presentation and consistency are always excellent.
- Manage food preparation, portion control and minimize waste.
- Maintain cleanliness, hygiene and safety standards in the kitchen.
- Plan and oversee kitchen operations and stock management.
- Work closely with the service team to deliver outstanding guest experiences.
- Handle special events, private dinners and themed menus.
Requirements
- 2 – 5 years’ experience as a Chef in a hotel, lodge, resort or similar environment.
- Proficient in preparing Continental and Local/Ugandan dishes.
- Knowledge of catering and cost economics (food cost control, portion control, menu costing, etc.).
- Certificate/Diploma in Culinary Arts, Catering & Hotel Management or equivalent experience.
- Strong organizational, time management and leadership skills.
- Able to work in a remote island resort environment.
- Willing and able to relocate from wherever you are currently.
