Job summary: Description of the purpose of the Job
Norvik Hospital is hiring a Security Guard to ensure safety for Staff, Visitors and Company assets by actively patrolling, controlling Hospital access points , monitoring surveillance, responding to security incidents, enforcing Hospital policies and maintaining a secure and orderly environment.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:  Brief description of duties and responsibility of the job
  • Access Control: Monitor entrances and exits to ensure only authorized individuals enter restricted areas.
  • Patrolling: Conduct regular interior and exterior patrols of hospital buildings, parking lots, and grounds.
  • Surveillance: Monitor security systems, alarms, and CCTV cameras for suspicious activity.
  • Incident Response: Respond promptly to emergencies such as disturbances, thefts, accidents, or code alerts.
  • Customer Service: Provide assistance to patients, visitors, and staff with directions or general inquiries while maintaining a professional demeanor.
  • Reporting: Document incidents, unusual occurrences, or safety hazards in daily logs and submit incident reports as needed.
  • Enforcement: Ensure compliance with hospital policies, health and safety regulations, and applicable laws.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with local law enforcement, emergency services, and internal hospital staff during emergencies or investigations.

Required Skills:

  • Observation and Vigilance: keen attention to details and alertness to notice security threats.
  • Communication: Clear verbal, written, and non-verbal skills to report incidents and interact with people
  • Physical fitness: should be fit enough to provide security to the hospital and all its stakeholders.

 

Working Conditions:

  • Hospital-based role with rotating shifts and physical demands like standing and walking.

 

Educational qualifications and experience:
  • Minimum of at least Uganda Certificate of Education
  • 1 year of relevant experience in a similar role is required
  • No criminal record.
