Description
Africente Microfinance is hiring Credit Officers (5) responsible for mobilizing clients, conducting credit appraisals, disbursing loans, monitoring loan repayments, and ensuring portfolio quality. The officer will also offer financial literacy support and maintain strong relationships with clients to support business growth. The role requires fieldwork, reporting, and adherence to lending policies.
Duties, Roles and Responsibilities
- Recruit and appraise loan applicants
- Disburse and recover loans in a timely manner
- Conduct client training and follow-up visits
- Prepare and submit loan reports
- Ensure compliance with credit policies and procedures
- Support customer satisfaction and retention
- Collaborate with colleagues to meet branch targets
- Identify and mitigate loan default risks
Qualifications, Education and Competencies
- Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Microfinance, Business Administration, or related field
- Previous experience in credit operations or fieldwork is an advantage
- Good communication and negotiation skills
- Ability to ride a motorcycle and valid riding permit (an added advantage)
- Honest, disciplined, and community-oriented
- Willingness to work in the field and travel regularly
