Tugende is hiring a Branch Executive to oversee the efficient and profitable operation of all branch activities, ensuring the achievement of company targets (e.g., PAR, Effective Repayments, Cancellation Rates) and driving branch growth. Location: Assigned Branch, Uganda
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
1. Revenue Generation:
- Lead the team in ensuring sustainable revenue generation through:
- Driving marketing initiatives to promote Tugende products.
- Allocating tasks and resources for lead generation and conversion, ensuring execution.
- Timely escalation of issues impeding revenue generation and requesting support.
- Close supervision of customer service and efficiency in the sales process.
2. Portfolio Quality:
- Follow the credit policy to maintain good portfolio quality, focusing on:
- Supervising execution of policy guidelines, including task allocation and follow-up.
- Analyzing and interpreting portfolio data to guide decision-making.
- Providing on-ground support for portfolio quality improvements as advised by the Credit team.
- Supporting and/or actively participating in recovery operations.
3. Building Relevant Community Relations:
- Act as a liaison between Tugende and local authorities.
- Conduct benchmarking, market research, and self-education on the business environment.
- Build partnerships with key entities (e.g., Police, security agencies, local authorities, suppliers, businesses) to grow the business.
- Monitor customer relations through feedback, spot-checking, problem-solving, and timely escalation.
4. Team Management:
- Provide strong leadership to operations teams to achieve set targets and control expenses.
- Supervise staff to ensure smooth operations and service delivery.
- Coordinate safety and security functions at the branch.
- Train and coach field teams and support functions on Tugende operations, expectations, core values, rules, and regulations.
- Participate in regular performance reviews for branch staff.
- Ensure proper support from head office functions.
5. Customer Service:
- Create a customer care environment ensuring satisfaction through efficient responses and resolutions.
- Understand and respond to client questions and challenges.
- Train field teams to provide excellent customer service and timely query resolution.
- Participate in customer activities (e.g., classes, vetting visits, calls, impounding events, lease completion/termination).
- Ensure proper and timely asset lease management, including documentation and disbursement.
- Monitor client lifecycle from onboarding to logbook issuance.
- Attract new customers and expand the customer base in assigned regions.
6. Manage Field Operations:
- Support collection, recovery, and client vetting processes.
- Ensure proper implementation of operations policies and procedures.
7. Reporting:
- Submit operations status reports indicating progress, challenges, and solutions.
- Strengthen stakeholder engagements and local business partnerships (e.g., Police, local authorities, suppliers).
- Identify new business opportunities within the region.
8. Manage Branch Administration:
- Act as custodian of branch resources, ensuring proper utilization and accountability.
- Ensure branch profitability through increased sales, expense monitoring, portfolio performance, and efficient operations.
- Propose process, procedure, and cost-efficiency improvements.
- Ensure a conducive working environment with required resources for team productivity.
Key Requirements:
- Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent in Business Administration/Management.
- Experience:
- At least 3 years of management or supervisory experience, preferably in asset finance/microfinance.
- Skills and Competencies:
- Unquestionable integrity, transparency, and professionalism.
- Riding competence (required).
- Excellent analytical skills.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- High dependability and commitment.
