Position Summary:
The Program Officer will provide cross-cutting coordination, analytical, and operational support for program activities. Based in Kampala, the role requires a proactive and detail-oriented individual who excels in a dynamic environment and is capable of handling multiple projects efficiently.
Key Responsibilities:
- Coordination:
- Support program implementation to achieve deliverables.
- Represent the program at national and sub-national levels.
- Engage with stakeholders and internal programs for improved coordination.
- Collaborate with health workers, facility in-charges, and local governments to promote interventions.
- Operations:
- Plan logistics, including procurement and third-party payments.
- Provide administrative support for program development and implementation.
- Maintain donor reporting schedules and assemble reports.
- Perform basic finance functions and ensure compliance with CHAI Uganda policies.
- Analytics, Monitoring, and Evaluation:
- Assist government partners with planning and operationalization of recommendations.
- Develop and track work plans and budgets for program activities.
- Compile and ensure accuracy of activity and program reports.
- Support proposal preparation and documentation of best practices.
- Cross-Cutting:
- Undertake additional tasks as requested by the supervisor.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in social sciences, business, public health, or a related field.
- 3-4 years of experience in a results-driven environment.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word).
- Strong analytical skills, organizational abilities, and attention to detail.
- Ability to synthesize information and manage multiple tasks under tight deadlines.
- Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
- Experience working with government stakeholders and knowledge in Health Systems Strengthening, Sexual Reproductive Maternal and Newborn Health, or Health Financing is an advantage.
